Excitement..

Our lives as women is such a life of excitement, isn’t it?  It is never a dull moment in the Bateman household!

Exercise begins at 7:00 a.m even if it wasn’t planned.   Sometimes my day begins with two of my Jack Russell Terriers whining to get out the door, therefore, I have to run and open the door while checking that the male dominant Jack Russell is not outside already.

Mind you, I am running down the long set of stairs and the sun is barely shining!  Excitement because with out planning my day I have started my exercise routine already and have a whole day ahead!

I have been trying to exercise two to five miles a day especially getting ready to welcome my husband home.  Every day I choose to either walk or ride my bike.  How exciting is that?  Going back to what I did as a child!  Awesome!

Honestly, I have fallen in love with both exercises.  I have also noticed by being outside you pay attention to the beauty of our Savior’s creation.  I have enjoyed waving at our neighbors and actually seeing what my neighborhood looks like!

I also still lift my weights that I bought at Target for about eight dollars.  I also bought an exercise ball for eleven dollars.  Not bad for a small gym at home!  I do keep myself motivated, amigas!  I am able to either listen to a message or listen to Christian music and keep going!

Since I live in the flatlands of Georgia there are no mountains anywhere.  The kids and I hiked the “Jekyll Island Bridge.”  This bridge is as tall as a mountain and we put in our miles!101_0579

We had so much fun on Saturday! Some of us ran, jogged, walked or casually took little breaks here and there!

The bridge was not Mt.Greylock, but oh, well we hiked it!  I have noticed, amigas, that it is an amazing thing to have the support of the whole family and exercising together is a blast!101_0574

With the Lord all things are possible so my encouragement for you this week is try to get the family involved with what you do during the week.

You can start by one Saturday a month plan an activity that takes a couple of hours together and make sure you are “moving.”  Then add another Saturday and before you know it you will be with your family and exercising together every Saturday each month!

I just want to add something you already know.  Drink your water! Have your light salads with lean meats either grilled or baked.  Stop your sodas!  When you have your Starbucks have it non-fat and no whip!  Know what you are going to have before you go to your favorite restaurant.  You know the routine!

In Colossians 3:23 it says, “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.”

Hasta Luego, amigas!

I was just having thoughts of organising some family outdoorsy activities on Saturdays- well now you’ve tipped me over the edge…. I’m going to plan it, and I’m going to plan it NOW!!!!
I’ll keep you posted on the results!

  2. Awesome advice as always.

  3. I use to want a Jack Russell Terrier! They are so fun.

You gave great advice!! I lost the soda years ago and I am sooooo glad. I never miss them.

  4. Please put your hand on your screen and send me some of that enthusiasm for exercise via cyberspace :)

  5. I love bike riding too. It also reminds me of being a kid. Remember when exercise was just fun play? That was great.

  6. Thanks again for the inspiration!!
