Up’s and Down’s

Up’s and Down’s everyone has them!  One day you are up with your routine and then the next day you are not!  It reminds me of  our Christian walk, but I won’t go there today!

Today, as I was bicycling with my projected goal of six miles, I was thinking of what I could encourage each one of us with.

The more I rode my bike, the more I was thinking that what if all of our days could be filled with excitement when we are trying to reach our healthy goal?

Thoughts came to mind of how we can accomplish this tedious task at the beginning of our weight loss journey.  Believe it or not I was thinking of “The Sound of Music,” movie!

Through out that musical, even during their chores, they were either dancing, singing, or running!  All the exercise we need during one day!  Do you think music might affect how your routines work?

Movie stars and models that we find in our magazines can come across as they always have fun working out and making sure that they are eating all the right foods; grant it some of them might really enjoy it.

As believers, the key that we possess amigas, is what dwells inside of each one of us!  As believers trying to take care of our bodies, we have the Holy Spirit who is our encourager, our guide, and our helper!  Isn’t that what we all need to continue in this journey?004_4

Since we have the Holy Spirit inside of us, helping us, why is that when we do have our up’s and down’s we end up dwelling more on our down’s?  We have a great possession! He will help you!

I also have thought about King Saul in 1 Samuel. When he was angry or upset he would always call for David to play the harp for music soothed him.  What music you play during your exercise routines (that you should all have by this time) should not grieve the Holy Spirit, but rather it should uplift Him.

You will have the fortitude and strength to finish what you started!  I noticed now by doing most of my exercise outside the house that my mind reflects on what I have put in it on that particular day.

It makes a huge difference, amigas, in your daily routine!  I am not going to go with what our T.V’s and movie selections portray today. They can also play a part of why we keep dwelling on the down’s!100_0071

Amigas, I hope that this made sense to you, and the point I am trying to make for all of us!  The Holy Spirit helps us during our Christian walk! What makes us think He won’t help you during your journey of getting back to being healthy?  He is waiting!

Amigas, listen to what His Word says, in John 14:16-17 “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper ; that he may abide with your forever the Spirit of truth, whom the world can not receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him for He dwells with you and will be in you.

  1. Bless you.

  2. Great post. Love the before and after!! PTL!! What a transformation. I think the thing I love the most about my weight loss and transformation is that it gives a “visible” measure to what God can do for a person. When people ask me how I did it…the first thing I try to say is, “Jesus did it!” Thanks for your post and keep up the good work.

  3. Like one of my favourite bloggers said this morning: The world wants us to focus on what we’re lacking… but God is all about abundance!!

This is a wonderful post! Like usual!! You’re always so encouraging.

  4. As great as it is to hear I’m not the only one struggling, it’s also great to hear some encouraging words, thank you for sharing!

And I think music is a huge motivator for a lot of people, God has designed it to move us, sometimes emotionally, sometimes physically, sometimes both : ) I can run way longer with some good songs than with the t.v. or without anything. So, it would appear, I need to listen to a lot more music to keep myself moving all the time, lol.
