Every day you must decide to make a change in your daily routine! I was thinking about last week’s blog and I thought that by using that line I could start us off this week!
What do I mean? When you replace something that is not good for you to find something that is good for you.
Let’s try this. Fruit flavored yogurt can be replaced by plain yogurt with adding fruit at your own interest. It will make it healthier and a few less calories. Eat your cereal for breakfast using it only with skim or 2% milk instead of snacking on it. The temptation to keep on snacking on it because we believe it is healthy and before you know it you have had another meal!
Last week, I mentioned replacing one of your sodas with water. Well, what about replacing all your diet sodas with water? If you read the nutrition chart, diet sodas are not a great help.
The advantages of water are the following : Zero calories!!!! Believe it or not, it has been proven that when you make a routine and you include 6 to 8 glasses of water a day you feel more energized and even think a little clearer! (I have my good and bad days with the “clearer” thinking part) Drink up, amigas!
Replacing our regular meals and snacks with great tasting foods helps in accomplishing our goals. I have noticed for the past two years and even today that as I began my weight loss journey I had to have a better reason to lose weight than the usual, “I want to lose 10 pounds” The real reason is that__________.
My reason was because I wanted to feel energetic, and I wanted to hike with my husband. Whatever your motivation, try not to have it associated with past failed attempts.
Remember the Bible verse amigas? Philippians 3:13 “But one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.”
Amigas, until next week!
*My husband as of my writing this has arrived to Gorham, NH!! He has lost a total of 30 pounds. He has done about 300 miles! Missing him, but praising the Lord for his accomplishment!
Read his journal updates at www.hike4fathers.com
The pictures below represent 3 of the 60 mountains he has already accomplished! Ten of them were under 3,000 ft and the rest were well over 3,000 ft!

You and your husband are both such great inspirations.
Wow! Thanks for this wonderful encouragement. My husband also loves to hike. He’s working on the AT south heading north and done about 300 miles thus far. He’d love to thru hike, he just doesn’t have the time(and money) necessary to to that.
Be blessed.
Thanks for encouraging us. You always give me something to think about.
Bravo to your amazing husband. You must be so proud.
Elaine, I sent you an email I hope you got it?
besos,
marina
Thanks so much for the encouragment today!
