Summer Days 2

Last week I mentioned that we were going to Six-Flags over Georgia.  It was an amazing ride!  We had a great time in which I realized yet, again, that I was thankful for sticking to my lifestyle change!

I was thankful for always drinking water, changed eating patterns, and for my daily exercise routine.  I don’t want to come across that I have always been that way for I wasn’t!  What I want to come across in this blog is that if I can do it you can also!

It was 30 years ago the first time I went to Six-Flags!  Years have gone by!  At 18, I could run all over that park.  Guess what?  I ran all over that park again and this time it was because the Lord gave me the strength to follow through with the decision I made 2 and 1/2 years ago!

This summer as you are out and about remember the decisions that you have made. 

The kids will be home with snacks and a lot of pizza!  Have your pizza, but make it a veggie pizza!  Have your snacks, but change their snacks!  Fruits and vegetables around the house won’t hurt our kids, but it will help them start looking at food differently at an earlier age!

Did you buy a volleyball so you can play with your kids in the pool?  That is great exercise! I mentioned some of the moves recommended for the pool in my last week blog that you can do as you enjoy the day in the sun!  If you are near the beach then take a soccer ball and get out there and run with your kids!The beach 05-18-2008 088

Enjoy your summer days with the family for before you know it they will be gone!

*Secret tip* Before entering any restaurant always make up your mind that you will stick to your lifestyle change with some grilled foods, salads, and lots of WATER!

  1. Thanks for the encouragement! I keep telling myself “I’ve done this before, I can do it again.” You are so right about making up our minds before we enter a resteraunt – it’s so easy to have a breaded, deep-fried chicken burger if you haven’t resolved to have the grilled chicken garden salad. Too easy.

    Now, I’m going to start rooting around your blog to see if I can find your whole success story…

  2. Hi – Congratulations on sticking with your commitment for 2 1/2 years! You’re an inspiration.

    We’ve been eating out less (desiring to help finances AND be healthier)…but we do have somewhere to be this evening and are eating out. I’ll definitely be having the salad! :-)
