Priorities… Change…

Spending the time with my husband and kids at Jekyll Island, Georgia... an absolutely beautiful day at the beach and ocean!Looking back at the reasons why I had my “ups and downs” earlier in my weight loss journey, I have would have to say that I just didn’t like “change.”

Amigas, change is an inevitable part of life!  How we handle the changes in our life depends on how much we trust our trust Savior.

Change can also apply in our daily commitment to our lifestyle.

Changing our bad habits helps to determine our weight loss goals too.  First, remember to look at your journey more than a diet – it is a whole lifestyle change that will stick with you forever!

Here are a few rules that I will share with you on a continual basis:

Always drink water… H2O always!!!!

Sneak exercise into your daily life.  If your destination is close by, why not take husband, children or friend and walk or bike there instead of driving?

You can make time for exercise if you commit to finding time.  Think about getting home and carrying your own groceries from the car to the house.  A little weight lifting and cardio for a few minutes won’t hurt.

One of the ways to stop yourself from “giving up” in your journey is to create new goals – instead of the same old, “I want to loose five pounds.”  How about making it your goal to keep up with your kids? How about staying alert for your husband’s sake? Use some imagination but stay realistic too amigas!

My next to youngest son (16 years old in a few days) and I. I beat him at Putt-Putt in the end! This past weekend our whole family went to play Putt-Putt golf.  It was more enjoyable in part, because I had so much more energy to play and in fact, kept going the whole day!

Enjoy change! It won’t kill you or hurt you!

Remember to check with your physician if in doubt when considering drastic changes to your exercise routines! Getting healthy should be a great experience… not a burdensome one! :)

“And whatever you do in word or deed do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17

Hasta Luego, Amigas!
