“But the path of the just is like the shining sun. That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.”
Another week has gone by in the new year! Mi amigas, where are you today on your “healthy habit” journey? I hope that you have picked up your “Special K” cereal, tennis shoes, and water bottle and are moving along!
By now I am sure most of you have included breakfast into your routine. I had a dear friend comment on my blog last week about the subject of breakfast. She confided that her time is so busy in the early morning, that she doesn’t include time for breakfast.
I too, am a busy mom – so, I grab a “Special K” meal bar in the morning, and continue on my way! “Special K” meal bars come in various flavors – and the taste, I am sure, should please all! My personal favorite is strawberry and Blueberry flavored.
There are other bars out there too… fruit bars, yogurt bars, and granola bars to name a few! Always keep in mind your body’s need for energy. In between breakfast and lunch, try munching small portions of almonds or fruit. I like bananas! It was a great picker upper!
If you are tempted to down a “smoothie”, just make sure it is made with real fruit juices – not the creamy substitutes. A strawberry-banana smoothie is packed with 440 calories, so it will make for a quick breakfast item.
Now, I will take a few moments to recap what we have shared so far on our “eating healthy and changing habits” journey:
- It takes about two weeks to change a bad habit. Don’t give up!
- Carry a water bottle with you wherever you go – skip the sodas and heavy coffee creamers!
- Keep moving! You will be surprised how good you will begin to feel and how much more energy you will have at the end of the day!
- Get a friend involved with your journey! Friends are a great source of encouragement when times get tough!
- Eat smaller portions. Learn to control how much you take in at one sitting!
- Get plenty of rest. A good night’s sleep does wonder for getting your body the prepared for the next day’s adventure!
- Don’t skip breakfast. That is a big “No, No!” You need that energy source first thing in the morning!
- Remember, good things come to those that wait! The results you are looking for come over time so, resist the temptation to expect results in just a few days or even weeks! It will come!
Getting in better shape aids your serving Him better too! Think about it… more energy, more stable emotions and feeling better too!
What I have shared with you so far has continued working for me! It does take discipline and it is habit forming. All is really left up to you. How serious are you? Are you getting discouraged? Are we past the excuses? Have you found a routine of exercising? I don’t want to be redundant, amigas, but I want to emphasize these things as often as possible!
“And let us run with endurance the race that is set before us…Remembering also that …looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1b -2
Amigas! Run the race! Feel better doing it! Trust the Lord! See the results in due time! Do you realize that our getting “healthy” is just for a season anyway? Jesus Christ reminds all of us who follow after Him, that we are putting off this flesh one day and will be given new bodies when we see Him face to face!
This is my personal theme in my “bringing back healthy” journey.. so, be encouraged!
Till next week, amigas!
Hasta Luego
Elaine

Great advice! Thanks. I love the special K orange and chocolate cereal bar. It is so good!
It is so true to have a friend there to pick you up and help you keep going!
Much love,
Angela
Love the Special K bars too! I used to never eat breakfast, but I’ve made a conscious effort to do it lately.
Is this your Live Well post??
All the pointers you listed are great. They seem to all be related to a healthy body which is great. We also need to treat the Spirit and Soul.
I love the verse you included.
I have tried the Special K bars and they are good. A good choice for someone who eats breakfast on the go. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
I hope you continue to do well! Your post are an inspiration.
I’ve not even thought about those before. I’ll give them a try. I’m pretty much an oatmeal in the morning, girl. Thanks!
I love the list that you shared. I think we all too often forget that “good things come to those who wait.” Thank you for the reminder.
Love your list have to remeber them will try the k_bars, did you ever get my email address you ask me for? I know how busy you are with your little one!
Blessing amiga…marina
