But thanks be to God, who gives…

“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” I Corinthians 15:57

This will be the end result of our Christian walk but what till then?

special k Well, amigas, we continue on our journey of diets and exercises! I thought maybe I would begin today by sharing how and with what I replaced my dietary intake with during my journey eating healthy.

The subject of breakfast is as important as every other facet of right dieting. At first, I tried to journal what I ate. With so many things to do in a typical day, I just couldn’t keep it up…  actually, never kept it updated would be more accurate! So, I just decided to pay close attention to what I was eating and how much of it I was taking in at one sitting.

Many times, I would eat “Kellogg’s Special K” for breakfast and lunch during my first year.  Sometimes, I would mix things up by eating other types of cereals. I love “Special K” the best and would always go back to that!

It comes with either yogurt or the almond flavored.

Add half a banana or some other fruit along with a glass of pure grapefruit juice and you are well on the way to a great breakfast routine. Um, good!

Either way, I always keep my 24-oz cup of water right next to me during my early morning breakfast and my bread of life, which God’s Word. What a great combination – physical and spiritual food at the same sitting!

Amigas, I know this sounds a little boring but I am telling you it only takes two weeks to change a routine! This is the key to changing the way you view food and what you put in your mouth.  Remember! The Lord gives all food for us to enjoy! So, enjoy!

Before I forget! Use 2% or skim milk on that cereal!

Of course, simply eating cereal won’t make much of an impact if you don’t excercise too. As you change up your breakfast routine, avoid the temptation to skip your day’s main meal in order to cut calories!

That strategy never works, my amigas!

Until next week, here’s a very special bible verse to encourage you with:

“But the path of the just is like the shining sun. That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.” Proverbs 4:18

Hasta Luego,

Elaine

  1. My hubbie has started eating this cereal! I should give it a try. You made it sound so good. And two weeks changing a habit sounds good. Getting back into the swing of things.
    Blessings,
    Angela

  2. How encouraging and I do like that cereal as well. I agree water is so crucial. Two weeks huh? I hope that works for me! God bless!

  3. Almond flavour sounds awesome. I used to eat this all the time as a kid. I haven’t had it in years! So what is Hasta Luego? Sounds nice.

  4. I’ve always been a little tempted to do the “Special K Challenge” — maybe I’ll have to give that a try. I for sure need to change my eating habits. It’s incredible how easy it is to make BAD habits, but the good ones are definitely longer in coming!!

  5. I am really bad about breakfast I am so in a hurry to get my son off to school that by the time I come back home its almost 8:30am and we leave by 7: am to get there on time so I wake up at 6:15 am make his lunch then get him ready give him his breadfast to eat in the car as I drink my coffee and drive.By the time I come home it has already been 2 hours and still no breadfast b/c now its time to clean up so I really don’t stop to eat breadfast until 11 am but I will try for 2 weeks and see what happens after all it can’t hurt.
    chow amiga,marina
