But solid food belongs to those…

“But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their sense exercised to discern both good and evil.”  Hebrews 5:14

P1010004_02This past week went very fast with many exciting and different situations in our huge family.  In dealing with those situations, I began thinking on how to encourage each one of you to get  in the “zoom” mood.

The verse I started with in Hebrews speaks about spiritual maturity.  In order to discern “good and evil”, we must have our minds “exercised” by the reading of His Word.  We should all be in the “solid food” mode.

My question this week is…”Did you exercise your mind this past week?”

My second question is.. you guessed it…”Did you exercise your body too?”

We are all into the big Christmas dinner season, so, this would be a good time to begin your ten minutes of “running in place” or walking more.

Here’s a suggestion: park your car farther away from that favorite department or grocery store and walk a little more! You might be surprised how these little changes in routine begin adding up to better health.

How about getting a “Hula Hoop” and using it for ten minutes at a time?  Did you know that you burn 50 calories for every ten minutes of exercise with a “Hula Hoop?  20 minutes each day on it helps you reduce your waist size by two inches in a month!

I will tell you amigas, that two years ago I couldn’t do the “hula hoop” at all! But, I didn’t give up trying!  I tried every day.

“I can do all things through Christ that strengthened me.” Philippians 4:13

It might sound silly to you but, you know, the Lord did strengthen me!  He brought this verse continually to my mind as I endured being uncoordinated and suffering a few bruises from learning how to use a weighted hoop.

Two years later… I am in better shape and better coordinated too!

I am going to wrap things up by reminding you of these things mentioned in previous articles:

  • exercise your mind, body and soul with God’s word, the bible
  • exercise your time shared with family, friends and the church
  • exercise your food consumption by self-control, moderation, discipline and determination

“And whatever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord and not to men.” Colossians 3:23

Hasta Luego and “Feliz Navidad”
